CONCEPT
A LITTLE GLITZ. A LOT OF SECRETS.
Inspired by the glamour and excess of the Roaring Twenties, The Silver Soirée reimagined a 25th birthday as an extravagant celebration hosted by a fictional society heiress, Suzanne Beaumont.
Set against the backdrop of the Prohibition era, the evening invited guests into the Beaumont family's world of wealth, champagne, complicated relationships and carefully guarded secrets. What began as a lavish birthday soirée would soon become a murder mystery, with every guest playing a character and every character having something to hide.
The goal was to create more than a themed party. Through storytelling, personalized identities and interactive details, the gathering became a fictional world that guests could step into, influence and experience together.

ART DIRECTION
ALL THAT GLITTERS HAS SOMETHING TO HIDE.
The visual direction drew from the opulence of the Roaring Twenties, combining black, gold and burgundy with Art Deco typography, geometric ornamentation and vintage-inspired graphics.
The creative challenge was to balance glamour with suspicion. Rich colours and polished detailing established the Beaumont family's extravagant social world, while aged documents, character dossiers and investigative imagery hinted at the secrets beneath its surface.
Together, these contrasting visual languages created an identity that felt theatrical, indulgent and just a little suspicious..

EXECUTION
EVERY GUEST HAD A PART TO PLAY.
The experience began with a fictional newspaper announcement introducing the Beaumont family's upcoming celebration and hinting at the secrets beneath its glamorous façade.
Seventeen core characters & red herrings; received their identities ahead of the event, giving them time to step into their roles before arrival. Additional characters were assigned at the door and intentionally written to enrich the story without disrupting the mystery if a guest couldn't attend.
Each character card outlined an identity, relationships, secrets and motivations, while a custom character bingo game encouraged guests to spend the opening moments mingling in character—turning introductions into the first stage of the mystery.
From there, the story unfolded throughout the space. Guests posed for Polaroid mugshots that populated a growing Usual Suspects wall, while personalized wanted posters, a mugshot photo booth, themed props and prompts introducing each act kept everyone immersed as the investigation progressed.

Select a suspect to uncover their story.

EXECUTION CONT..
THE WORLD BEYOND THE MYSTERY.
A SPEAKEASY WITH SECRETS
The fictional setting carried through to the smallest environmental details. Era-inspired cocktails, custom matchboxes, branded food packaging and prohibition-style crate labels helped transform the venue into a speakeasy worthy of the Beaumont family's reputation.
These details weren't essential to solving the mystery, but they made the world feel more complete. From the drinks guests ordered to the keepsakes they took home, the experience extended beyond the game itself.

THE BEST STORIES ARE THE ONES WE GET TO STEP INTO.
The Silver Soirée explored how storytelling, art direction and thoughtful interaction can turn a social gathering into a shared fictional world.
The most meaningful part of the experience wasn't simply creating the setting, but giving guests the identities, relationships and opportunities to shape what happened within it. From the first character introductions to the final reveal, the story became something everyone helped bring to life.
